Join the Red Deer River Watershed Alliance (RDRWA) on Wednesday, November 10th for When in Drought? New Strategies for Municipal Drought Management and Resilience in Alberta. This free virtual conference is designed for municipal staff, elected officials, and interested stakeholders to develop a foundational level of awareness about natural assets and learn about new tools and practical approaches to enhance municipal resiliency in the face of drought risks in Alberta.
- Natural Asset Management – what it is, why it matters, recent examples, opportunities for local government and others.
- Drought – local history and experiences in other jurisdictions
- Challenges and Opportunities – learn more about the practical aspects of implementing natural assets, nature-based solutions, and local tools for water management
Agenda: During this half-day session, you will hear from three speakers with experience working across Canada and internationally, followed by a moderated panel discussion featuring stories of drought from various jurisdictions and strategies to help safeguard our communities and ecosystems.
