The Red Deer River Watershed Alliance attended the 2025 Association of Alberta Agricultural Fieldmen In-Service Training in Edmonton, representing Alberta’s Watershed Planning and Advisory Councils (WPACs).

The three-day training featured a full agenda with plenty of networking opportunities and presentations on a wide range of topics from livestock emergency response planning to using emotional intelligence for effective conflict resolution.
The event was well attended, with more than 75 participants visiting the WPAC booth to engage in meaningful conversations about ecological stewardship, water use, environmental research, and sustainable development. We also distributed a variety of resources, including the Building Resiliency to Multi-Year Drought in Alberta information guide.
The Red Deer River Watershed Alliance welcomed the chance to help attendees identify the watershed in which they live and work, and to encourage their participation in local watershed events and initiatives.
