The Red Deer River Watershed Alliance’s World Water Day & Spring Forum was held at the Eagle Builders Centre in Blackfalds on March 22nd, 2023. We were pleased to welcome a diverse and engaged group of community members, municipal staff, elected officials, and key stakeholders. Attendees got to hear from inspiring speakers working on water stewardship, education and assessment initiatives in the Red Deer River basin.

The event began with a traditional welcome from Dale Bigchild, and Elder from Sunchild First Nation.

Our first speaker Alice Koning, with the Kerry Wood Nature Centre, highlighted our partnership and the Quest for the Best Water Test Grade 8 school program. Murray Welch, with the Medicine River Watershed Society provided a presentation on their Medicine River Water Quality sampling program.
