The Red Deer River Watershed Alliance is pleased to announce the appointment of Francine Forrest as the new Executive Director of the RDRWA.
Francine is an experienced limnologist (freshwater biologist) with over 20 years of experience working on water quality issues, primarily in government and consulting settings. Her strengths lie in strategic planning, collaboration, and information synthesis. Francine has a research background with a Master of Science degree from Queen’s University and has worked on several applied agricultural research projects in the past with the provincial government.
She has contributed technical expertise to over 25 monitoring programs and several watershed management plans including the Red Deer River Basin. She is a former business owner, Alberta Lake Management Board Director, and has experience and training in project management. Personally, she loves being a mother and is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys kayaking and canoeing Alberta rivers.
Francine is excited to serve as the Executive Director on behalf of the RDRWA and to contribute to ongoing planning, reporting and outreach initiatives that work towards a healthy and sustainable basin into the future.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Francine as she begins her new role with the RDRWA. We look forward to continuing to work with with our members and municipal partners from across sectors toward a healthy, dynamic, and sustainable watershed.
